Unanimously, $6,990,000 in bonds were approved by the Washington County Board of Supervisors in their weekly meeting Tuesday. The board approved the issuance of general obligation county communication facility and equipment bonds and directing the levy of taxes to pay the same. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer said the documents had been reviewed by legal counsel, “Basically, here it is gentlemen, here it is. This resolution was prepared by Bob Josten, and I also will add that County Attorney Gish reviewed the document, and he expressed no issues with the wording or anything else with the document.” The bonds will be paid off in 2030. In total, the county has $11.57 million in bonds for the communications equipment and building project. Ground was broken on the facility in July and it will house emergency dispatchers and the county emergency operations center.
