The Southeast Iowa Superconference selected their all-conference teams this week for the 2019 baseball season. Iowa Mennonite School had seven total selections.
Senior Trevor Leyden was a first team all-conference selection as a pitcher. Leyden finished the year with a 0.33 ERA, best in the Superconference and the state. He worked 21 innings, striking out 24 and finishing with a 3-0 record. At the plate he hit .340 with 18 total hits, 21 runs scored and nine RBI.
Senior Blake Bontrager was a first team all-conference selection as a catcher. His .415 average was sixth best in the Superconference. He was fifth in the league with 25 RBI, had 27 total hits and scored five runs. On the mound he was 3-3 with 35 innings thrown with a 4.80 ERA, and striking out 39.
Sophomore Eli Ours was a first team all-conference selection as an infielder. He hit .343 while driving 15 on 23 total hits and scored 20 runs. On the mound, Ours was a perfect 5-0 with a 1.82 ERA. He struck out 40 in 34 innings of work.
Freshman Noah Miller was a first team all-conference selection as an outfielder. Miller hit .338 for the year with 23 total hits, scoring 25 runs and driving in eight. On the mound he was 1-1 with 12 innings of work and a 5.11 ERA, striking out 14.
Sophomore London Schrock was a second team all-conference selection on the infield. Schrock finished the year hitting .333 with 23 total hits, 17 RBI and eight runs scored. On the mound he worked 10 innings with a 6.56 ERA.
IMS had a pair of honorable mention all-conference selections in Jacob Boller and Kobe Borntrager. Boller, a senior, finished the year hitting .319 on 23 hits, driving in seven and scoring seven times. Borntrager, a junior, hit .250 in 2019 with 15 total hits, eight RBI and 11 runs scored.
IMS finished with a 13-8 overall record.
