Plans are underway for the annual Bike A Thon at Lincoln Elementary School in Washington. Each year the fundraiser is held for the school. Students will be riding their bikes around the block the school sits on. At their recent meeting, the Washington City Council approved the event along with barricading streets. City Administrator Brent Hinson said the area being used is the same as last year, “And it is important for safety that we block those streets off.” Elementary students will be cycling a lap on South 4th Avenue, Monroe Street, South 6th Avenue, and Van Buren. It will be held September 19th from 1-2:45 p.m. A rain date is October 3rd.
