An inmate at the Washington County Jail threw a chair and cracked a window, and a taser was used to subdue him. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 8:30 p.m. Thursday 20-year-old Joseph Stafford of Des Moines threw a chair. Three Washington County Sheriff’s personnel and a Washington Police officer responded to assist at the jail. An ambulance also responded due to a taser being deployed but there was no medical transport. Pending charges on Stafford include criminal mischief in the second degree, assault on persons in certain occupations, and disorderly conduct.

In Polk County in January, he was charged with violation of a no contact or protective order. And on July 12th he was charged with voluntary absence from custody.
