Rain totals varied across the KCII listening area from over two inches in Iowa County to less than a tenth of an inch in southern Louisa County Sunday. The National Weather Service stated the thunderstorms that moved east across Iowa early Sunday left rain, hail, and downed trees. There was a brief spin-up tornado in Clinton County. A wind gust of 53 miles per hour was recorded at the Iowa City Airport at about 5 a.m. Sunday. The NWS says Washington received just over a quarter of an inch of rain and Kalona had three-quarters of an inch.
