The Iowa Track Coaches Association has released their preseason rankings ahead of the 2019 cross country season and the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks remain among the state’s elite. The Mid-Prairie girls team is ranked No. 2 in the state in class 2A. The two-time defending state champion Golden Hawks are behind only top ranked Williamsburg. In the individual poll for class 2A, Marie Hostetler, the two-time defending individual state champion is ranked No. 1. The Golden Hawks’ Mitzi Evans and Ana Fleming were highlighted on the “individuals to watch” list for the season. Mid-Prairie opens the 2019 campaign August 31st at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School.
