A Columbus Community School District teacher has been arrested for sexually exploiting a student. Authorities arrested 33-year-old Eusebio Jimenez, Jr. on Thursday, the day before classes start for the 2019-2020 school year. The high school Spanish teacher was charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee, a class D felony. In November 2018, a minor student reported that he had been sexually exploited by Jimenez. Jimenez was taken to the Louisa County Jail and bonded out.

The case was investigated by the Columbus Junction Police Department, the Louisa County Attorney’s Office, the Iowa Department of Human Services, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
