A bridge on Highway 1 in Washington County will be closed in September while crews replace it. The Iowa Department of Transportation has announced that the Highway 1 bridge over Camp Creek, about three miles south of Highway 22 will be closed starting September 3rd. The detour is 32 miles and will include Highway 22, Highway 218, and Highway 92. Work is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting. The Iowa DOT reminds people to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines in work zones are double for moving violations.
