The Eaglebots are looking for more members to join their robotics club. The Kirkwood Washington Regional Center offers the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics program to students in grades 7th through 12th. Director of the Center Tera Pickens says the STEM-focused club has competitions, “Through hands-on learning students are learning more about the field of robotics. So it’s kind of like a varsity sport for the mind. Students are competing locally and at state levels using the robotics, and team competition, and play in the field of robotics.” The club is lead by Jim Pitcher, an adjunct faculty member who teaches Project Lead the Way Engineering Academy, as well as Introduction to Computer classes. The Eaglebots meet generally on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. An informational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday (8/27) at the Kirkwood Washington County Regional Center.
