salsa-contest-20th-year

Tomatoes, onions, cilantro, peppers and more will come together for the 20th Annual Tasters Choice Salsa Contest. This week the Washington Farmers’ Market will host the salsa contest that’s been held for two decades. Prizes will be given for the top salsas in mild, medium, and spicy categories. The judges are the visitors of Thursday’s farmers’ market. Anyone can sample and then vote for their favorite.

The 2018 winners were Brad Alderton and Jaron Rosien in the mild category, Jaron Rosien in the medium category, and Corinthian Evanslea won the spicy contest. The overall Taster’s Choice Award went to Jaron Rosien’s “Cadillac Classic.”

To enter the contest bring a pint of your homemade salsa to the market Thursday, which runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
