The Hillcrest Academy Ravens will hit the volleyball court for the first time in 2019 Thursday when they travel to Fairfield for a quad meet. The Ravens were 19-15 last season. Mia Graber returns for her senior season after leading Hillcrest with 245 kills last year, third in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. They will have to replace their top setter after the graduation of Sami Miller who was fourth in the Superconference with 371 assists last year. They return their second leading setter with Yani Gutierrez posting 60 a season ago. Defensively the Ravens also have to replace their top two in digs from last season in Yoder and Miller who combined for 615 last year. Graber is the top returner with 207 last year. Hillcrest Academy is also under new direction with first year head coach Tanna Boshart, a 2003 Iowa Mennonite School graduate. Hillcrest Academy will be joined tonight by Albia, Eddyville-Blakesburg and Fairfield. At this event last season, the Ravens were swept in all three matches. Action begins tonight at 5:45 at Fairfield High School.
