The good vibes of the start to the season for the Mid-Prairie volleyball team continued into Thursday night, as they defeated Washington in four sets in the yearly rivalry.
After sweeping a Keota tournament earlier in the week, that momentum carried into the first set with the Golden Hawks winning 25-20. The second set was back and forth with the marathon ending in favor of Washington by a 30-28 score. Mid-Prairie would not let another set slip away however, as they won 25-19 and 29-27 to close out the match. Cassidy Hershberger led the way with nine kills for the Golden Hawks and Landry Pacha had 19 assists. Tori Boyse had six blocks and Hershberger was successful on 33 of 34 serve attempts.
Mid-Prairie improves to 4-0 and host Durant on Thursday. Washington is 0-1 and gets right back at it today at Grinnell for a tournament.
