A Brighton woman sentenced to up to 15 years in prison was released after 13 months. The Washington County Attorney’s Office announced that on August 29th, the Iowa Department of Corrections released 30-year-old Ashley Seaba from the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women. She had been sentenced in July of 2018 to up to 15 years in prison on three felonies – two counts of dominion or control of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender and theft in the second degree. Last August she was also convicted and sentenced on burglary in the second degree, a class C felony. The 10-year prison sentence for burglary ran concurrent with the 15-year sentence. Seaba served approximately 13 months in prison.
