Residents have two weeks left to file petitions to be on school board ballots. Those interested in running to be on a school board must collect signatures from constituents and file them with the school district by September 19th. Four seats will be on the ballot for the Washington Community School Board. Those seats are held by current school board president Eric Turner, as well as Stephanie Ellingson, Sonia Leyva, and Troy Suchan. Ellingson announced in August that she would not be seeking re-election after serving 11 years on the board. Election Day is November 5th, the same as city council elections.
