Starting Monday Highway 1 south of Kalona will be closed and Highway 1 north of Kalona will be reduced to one lane. The Iowa Department of Transportation will be replacing a bridge about three miles south of Kalona. The work is expected to take two weeks. North of Kalona, from Highway 22 to Highway 218 in Iowa City traffic will be reduced to one lane. There will be a pilot car to help direct traffic. This construction work is anticipated to be complete at about 5 p.m. September 12th.
