Washington got their sweet revenge on Marion last week after falling to them in 2018 and they hope for the same fate tonight, as they welcome Oskaloosa to Case Field for the home opener.

Last year the Indians put a big gash in Washington’s playoff hopes with a 30-20 victory in week two. In order for the Demons to not let history repeat itself they will need to slow down dual threat quarterback William Shultz. The sophomore threw for 157 yards and rain for 112 more in their opening week 29-22 win against Pella Christian. Demon head coach James Harris had a lot to say about Schultz and their offense. “He is a really dynamic athlete and he can throw the ball. Tyler Miller is really dynamic as well as their runningback and receiver. He has hurt us the last two years.” If the same Washington defense as last week shows up they should be in good hands, as they allowed just 103 yards of total offense to Marion in their 27-6 win. Luke Turner had 103 yards passing and Wyatt Stout had 103 on the ground to lead the offense.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. tonight at Case Field. Tune into FM 106.1 KCII starting at 7 p.m. to listen to the broadcast. The KCII Football Friday Preview Show analyzing all area games will get underway at 6 p.m.
