Cleats, shirts, tennis shoes, knee pads, and more can be found for free in downtown Washington Saturday. The Sports Equipment Exchange is hosted by the Washington YMCA. Ryan Harris with the YMCA explains this is a place for people to donate new and gently used sports equipment. Anyone in the community can then visit the exchange room at the YMCA and get the equipment for free. There are no income guidelines. Harris says it’s a way to help area families save money on equipment, while giving equipment a new life and keeping it from a landfill when it is still in good condition. Check out the free program from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. If you cannot make it during that time, contact Harris to set up a visit.
