School meals have a new look and feel this year at Sigourney Schools. The district has partnered with a new food service program called OPAA!. The program, based in Chesterfield, Missouri, has been serving students at various districts since 1978 and, according to their website, delivers a variety of fresh, tasty and nutritious choices at an exceptional value as a family owned and operated company. Part of what OPAA! offers is a foray into the digital world with Nutrislice, their easy to access digital menus. Each district has individual menus published daily with an interactive website. These menus provide photos, descriptions, calorie counts, ingredients lists and other nutritional information for each item, and allows users to filter selections for allergens. Nutrislice also has a mobile app. The program serves seven states, and around 300,000 students in 900 different districts.
