Nearly 250 veterans with visual impairments, amputations and physical and mental challenges are participating in an annual adaptive sports golf tournament taking place in Riverside today. The National Disabled Veterans Training Exposure Experience Tournament is a week-long rehabilitative event for Veterans that are differently abled with life changing disabilities. Veterans at the event are paired with one of 700 volunteers that will support them throughout the week. This includes scribing for the Veterans while they receive instruction from PGA professionals, assisting with a variety of rehabilitative activities offered, including: adaptive cycling, fishing, bowling, kayaking, scuba diving, disc golf, marksmanship and rock wall climbing. The event culminates with the golf tournament today.
