A $3.7 million bond measure passed in the Highland School District with just under 21% of the voters casting ballots. A 60% approval rate was needed to pass the public measure. Approximately 71% of the voters said yes. There were 420 people who supported it and 169 who said no. That leaves 2,280 registered voters in the school district who did not voice their opinion. In the Riverside precinct 405 people voted, in Ainsworth 158 people voted, and 26 people voted absentee. The funds will be used to upgrade windows and HVAC system, expand space for the fine arts department, and upgrade the elementary school playground in Riverside.
