Throughout the 21st century the Fairfield volleyball team has had Washington’s number including losing just one set to the Demons in the last five seasons. On Tuesday night in front of a packed Washington gym, the Demons changed that trend by downing the Trojans in four sets.
Washington won with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, and 25-23. Head Coach Lexa Mahr tells KCII Sports it was a great end to a successful week of volleyball. “I was telling the girls how proud I was of them in the locker room after the game. Just seeing their faces after the game doing Demon jacks was awesome. We had a lot of fun in our celebration after and it was great to have that home win against Fairfield.”
Washington improves to 6-8 overall and 2-0 in Southeast Conference play. They get back on the court Tuesday at Keokuk.
