midprairie-3

Another week, another impressive performance for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team. This time the Hawks turned their first road trip of the year into a business trip, topping Wilton 40-6. The Golden Hawks found the end zone on their first possession with a 10 yard touchdown pass from Brad Tornow to Zeb Danner. The Mid-Prairie ground attack took over the rest of the first half, with Kayden Reinier finding the end zone twice and Keegan Gingerich once to give the Hawks a 28-0 lead at the half. Out of the locker room, Mid-Prairie stopped the Beavers on fourth down, but a Golden Hawk turnover in the red zone led the lone Wilton points of the night when Mason Ormsby snuck in from two yards out to make it 28-6. The rest of the night belonged to the Golden Hawks and their running game with two more scoring drives as Reinier completed his hat trick, scoring his third touchdown of the night and Nathan Quinby posting his second touchdown run of the year. With the win, the Golden Hawks are now 2-1 on the year and will be at home Friday to host Iowa City Liberty for Homecoming.
