The Winfield-Mt. Union middle school cross country team competed at the Van Buren Invitational on Tuesday evening and a few runners found success.
Gabriel Hemsworth headlined the Wolves finishing first out of 76 boy runners with a 2000m time of 8:09. That time was 11 seconds faster than the second place runner. Other finishes included Ty Scorpil in 22nd (9:49), Jacob Nelson in 36th (10:26), Sheaden Adams 49th (11:35), and Tucker Richardson 60th (12:14).
The middle school Wolves will join the varsity on Tuesday when they travel to Donnellson.
