Columbus Community and Louisa-Muscatine met up in Letts on Friday to renew their rivalry, and the Falcons seized bragging rights with a 54-8 victory.

Due to injuries, the Wildcats had a new look backfield with Mason Hodges getting the bulk of the carries. The junior carried the rock 29 times for 77 yards to lead the offense. Head Coach Tyler Kibbee tells KCII Sports it was good to see what Hodges could do running the ball. “He has been doing a great job in practice and being a leader for us. We got a look at him in the JV game last week running the ball and see his abilities. As a fullback we know what he brings, but we weren’t sure as a ball carrier.” Freshman Jeff Hoback was under center and complete three of five passes for 33 yards and a touchdown to Tucker Bright.

Columbus is now 1-3 and look to get back in the win column Friday hosting North Cedar.
