A half dozen area cross country teams were in action at Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English on Tuesday night. Top area team finish in the boys race came from Lone Tree in fourth with 112 points. Wapello won the boys meet with 52 points. Top finish for the Lions came from Alberto Cortes in 13th with a time of 20:48. Other Lone Tree finishers included Nick Saltzman 17th, Cale Christofferson 19th, Ethan Willoz 41st, and Blake Honeycutt 54th.

Sigourney was sixth of eight teams with their score of 129 points. Top finish for the Savages came from Mason Moore in fourth with a time of 20:04. Other finishes for the Savages included Jake Ives 26th, Ricky Danowsky 34th, Tyler Bell 46th, Maltese Thomas 51st, and Zack Ives 63rd.

Hillcrest Academy was seventh with a score of 142 points. Top finish for the Ravens came from Colby Harris in 22nd with a time of 22:33. Other finishes for Hillcrest included Owen Swartzendruber 35th, Jesse Slater 36th, Tobias Chen 39th, and Collin Miller 45th.

Highland was eighth place in the team standings with their score of 186. Top finish for the Huskies came from Jacob Roling in 25th with a time of 22:45. Other finishers for Highland included Noah Oriano 43rd, Brendan Schnoebelen 48th, Matt Buttler 65th and Noah Holden 68th.

WACO did not have enough runners to post a team score. The Warriors were led by Jonah Egli in sixth with a time of 20:06. Other finishers for WACO included Tanner Conwell 30th, and Mattias Luitjens 64th.

Keota also did not have enough runners to post a team score. Top for the Eagles came from Dalton Dodd in 66th with a time of 32:03.

On the girls side of the event, top area finish came from Highland in third place with 94 points. Montezuma won the meet with 46 points. The Huskies were led by Madison Thomann who was meet runner-up with a time of 22:58. Other finishers for Highland included Fiona Mahler in 13th, Taylor Sublette 15th, Alli Brand was 35th, and Katelyn Waters 53rd.

Hillcrest Academy finished in sixth place with 114 points. The Ravens were led by Leah Bontrager in fourth with a time of 23:37. Other finishers for Hillcrest included Serena Gerber 10th, Taryn Leichty was 34th, Julia Boller 37th and Ainsley Shaw 59th.

The Lone Tree Lions didn’t have enough runners to post a team score. They were led by Macie Bopp and her sixth place finish in 24:28.

The Sigourney Savages didn’t have enough runners to post a team score. They were led by Megan Stuhr in 41st place with a time of 32:11. Other finishers for Sigourney included Alyssa Landgrebe in 43rd.

The WACO Warriors did not have enough runners to post a team score. They were led by Grace Conwell in 28th with a time of 28:40. Other WACO finishers included Makenzie Shelman 46th, Mackenzie Vradenburg 47th, and Hannah Dennis 48th.
