The Hillcrest Academy volleyball team is back on the floor Thursday when they travel to Wapello for a match with the Arrows. Hillcrest comes into tonight’s action with an overall record of 0-14 on the season after a four set loss to Pekin in Kalona on Tuesday. On the year, the Ravens are led by Danae McGaffey with 32 kills. Yani Gutierrez paces the Ravens with 84 assists, seventh most in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Norah Yoder leads the Hillcrest defense with 60 digs.
Wapello comes into the night with an overall record of 10-8. In their last match, they swept Highland on the road in straight sets. On the season the Arrows are led by Courtney Matthews with 68 kills, fifth most in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Holly Massner has the team lead and is second in the conference with 220 assists. Erin Hemphill leads the Arrows defense with 78 digs, eighth most in the conference. These two teams met a season ago with Hillcrest sweeping the match in straight sets. Action starts tonight at 6:30 at Wapello High School.
