The WACO Warrior football team is looking to climb back to .500 tonight when they travel to Montezuma to meet the Braves. WACO comes into the game with a 1-2 record on the year after a heartbreaking triple overtime loss on Homecoming to the No. 1 ranked New London Tigers 56-50. In the game, Nik Coble was 12 of 23 for 189 yards and four touchdowns. Robert Frazer pulled in six passes for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Coble also led the running game with 19 carries for 53 yards and two more scores. Braden Hammond had an incredible 21.5 tackles in the game. On the season, Coble leads the Warriors through the air at 31 of 58 for 554 yards and eight touchdowns. His favorite target is Frazer with 12 catches for 223 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground Coble has 46 carries for 258 yards and eight touchdowns. Hammond leads the Warrior defense with 38.5 tackles on the year.

Montezuma comes into the game with an overall record of 3-0. The Braves are currently ranked No. 5 in the latest eight man poll from the Associated Press. In their last game they beat Winfield-Mt. union 76-48, piling up 515 yards of total offense. Quarterback Eddie Burgess was 15 of 22 for 297 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception in the game. He also rushed for 151 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown on the ground. For the season the Braves are led by Burgess at 39 of 60 for 922 yards, 18 touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. He is also the leader on the ground at 41 carries for 348 yards and five touchdowns. Through the air his favorite target is Trey Shearer with 19 catches for 448 yards and nine touchdowns. Defensively the Braves are led by Ben Jorgenson at 28.5 tackles. These two teams met a season ago with the Warriors taking a 37-34 win. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Montezuma High School.
