Washington, Winfield-Mt. Union, and Columbus cross country teams made a trip south to Fort Madison on Thursday to compete in the Timm Lamb Invitational.

In the small class boys’ division Columbus came in second with 87 points while Danville took home first with 34. Winfield-Mt. Union was not far behind in third with 99. Isaac Acosta led the Wildcats in 12th (18:48) and Garrett Palmer placed 20th (19:25). Brody Barton cracked the top 10 in sixth for WMU (17:48) and Dane Sweezer placed 14th (19:03). Washington was in the large class and finished fourth out of seven with 91 points and Muscatine won it all with 35. Evan Horak finished fourth (17:17) and Lance Sobaski placed seventh (17:36).

The Demon girls also placed fourth with 101 and Mount Pleasant seized the crown with 25. Grace Voss led the way in seventh (22:14) and Abby Voss was 20th (23:54). Columbus and WMU did not have enough for a team score in the small division, but the Wolves’ Avery Maeder finished ninth (23:17) and the Wildcats’ Averi Sipes was 21st (26:41).
