The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams continue to turn heads around the state. The Mid-Prairie girls find themselves on top of the class 2A team rankings from the Iowa High School Track and Field Coaches Association for the third week in a row. The Golden Hawk girls are undefeated on the season, taking home the team title at each meet so far on the season. They have four runners currently ranked in this week’s individual poll, led by Marie Hostetler. The two-time defending state champion is ranked No. 1. She is followed by Abbagail Evans at No. 11, Mitzi Evans No. 13, and Sydney Yoder No. 29.
The Mid-Prairie boys check in this week at No. 8 in the class 2A poll, up five spots from a week ago. The Hawks are led by Jamison Stutzman who cracked the state’s top 30 for the first time this week, checking in at No. 26. The Golden Hawk girls and boys cross country teams will next be on the course Monday when they travel to Solon.
