The Winfield-Mt. Union football team could not keep up with Iowa Valley Friday night and fell for the second straight week with a final score of 48-22.

The Wolves had a tough time stopping the run, as the Tigers ran for 333 yards and five touchdowns. Daunte Oepping had another big game with 212 yards through the air on 11 of 20 passes and 115 yards on the ground with three scores. Jacob Ford had three receptions for 93 yards and Juanito Piper recorded 12 tackles defensively. Head Coach Scott McCarty tells KCII Sports they had their chances, but couldn’t capitalize. “We weren’t able to punch it in. We had fourth and goal two or three times and came up empty. We are missing 18 points there. You can’t have those things and expect to compete at the top level of the districts.”

WMU drops to 1-3 overall and get back on the field Friday at English Valleys.
