Summer officially ended with rain showers. Saturday and Sunday heavy rain fell across the KCII-listening area, ahead of the first official day of autumn on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, Washington received 1.4 inches of rain Saturday and another half an inch on Sunday. So far this month, Washington has observed 3.7 inches of rain, nearly an inch above normal.
