Two parades will be held for Washington’s 100th Homecoming this week. Royalty, class floats, area organizations, and the Marching Demon Nation will pound the pavement. The first will be in Brighton starting at 10 a.m. Thursday. The parade will go down Washington Street. The second will be Friday afternoon starting at 2 p.m. The parade will start at the high school, go north up Iowa Avenue and then around the square. High School Principal Erik Buchholz reminds anyone in the parades tossing candy to throw it a safe distance away from the floats and vehicles, in an effort to keep people from encroaching on the floats.

The Demons will take on Keokuk on the gridiron Friday night, listen for live play-by-play coverage of the game on FM106.1, online at KCIIRadio.com, or on our free KCII mobile apps.
