The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team begins the push to a possible district title tonight when they welcome Central Lee to Wellman. This week, Mid-Prairie head coach Pete Cavanagh talked about getting ready for Central Lee. “We had some concerns going into this game last year, we had lost four in a row and wasn’t sure about our offense. This is a game where we need to execute to the level that we can and not worry so much about them. They do have some good athletes, but they have struggled early in games, they have fallen behind. We also have to take care of the football, it’s going to be a rainy night.”
These two teams met a year ago with Mid-Prairie taking a 56-21 win. You can hear all of the action live tonight on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com, beginning with the Washington HyVee pregame show at seven and kickoff at 7:30 from Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.
