Following their first loss of the season, the Highland football team makes a road trip to Brooklyn to meet the BGM Bears. Highland comes into the game with an overall record of 3-1, with last Friday’s Homecoming loss to Lisbon their only blemish on the year. The Huskies are led this season by Connor Grinstead through the air at 14 of 22 for 272 yards and five touchdowns. His favorite target is Mason McFarland with nine catches for 215 yards and four touchdowns. The Huskies rushing attack is led by Cole Adamson with 482 yards and six touchdowns on 55 carries. Cael Yeggy leads Highland’s defense with 18 and a half tackles on the year, two for loss.
BGM comes into the game with an overall record of 4-0. The Bears are ranked No. 6 in this week’s poll from the Iowa Associated Press for class A. They beat East Marshall last Friday 21-13. Noah Beck leads the Bears passing game at 16 of 31 for 210 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Jordan Kriegel is his favorite target with five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. Beck is also the leading rusher with 72 carries 701 yards and 11 touchdowns. Kriegel leads the BGM defense with 35 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and two sacks. These two teams met a year ago with BGM taking a 31-22 win. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at BGM High School in Brooklyn.
