Lone Tree was one of the host sites of the preliminary rounds for the Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament with Winfield-Mt. Union also participating.

The Wolves defeated the Lions (21-10, 21-17) and Central Lee (10-21, 21-13, 15-6), but fell to Cardinal (23-21, 20-22, 8-15). WMU was in a three-way tie with Cardinal and Central Lee with the top two advancing to today’s finals. The Wolves then lost to Cardinal in a playoff set 15-21 to place third. Melina Oepping led the offense with 20 kills and Anna Hudson had 11. Keely Malone cashed in with 25 assists and Kyndal Townsley had 38 digs. The Wolves move to 14-7 on the season and get back on the court Thursday at Hillcrest Academy. Lone Tree’s other games included losing to Central Lee (11-21, 10-21) and Cardinal (7-21, 8-21).

The Lions drop to 3-17 and get back in action Thursday against Wapello.
