The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls cross country teams are again represented in this week’s rankings from the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association. The Mid-Prairie girls are ranked in the No. 1 spot in class 2A for the fourth straight week. The Hawks cemented the top spot Monday by beating No. 2 Williamsburg in a head-to-head meeting at Solon. The Golden Hawks have three individuals in the top 30 rankings in the state including Marie Hostetler at No. 1. Monday, she added the Solon individual championship to her accolades this season Also ranked for Mid-Prairie are Mitzi Evans No. 13 and Abbagail Evans No. 16.
The Mid-Prairie boys climbed one spot in this week’s team poll to No. 7. Tipton remains in the top spot in class 2A. The Hawks finished in sixth place at the Solon Invitational Monday. Chandler Hershberger represents Mid-Prairie in the individual poll checking in this week at No. 27. The Golden Hawks will next be in action Monday at the Creek Classic in Iowa City.
