Hillcrest Academy is preparing itself for a lively homecoming weekend. Director of Advancement Jeremy Ours tells KCII News the school aims to create a weekend of togetherness, “We pride ourselves in being a unique school community. We feel like we can offer things to our students that other schools can’t. So, to have a Homecoming that is unique fits. What homecoming has become is a weekend specifically set aside for our alumni to come together.”
The annual Joetown Classic 5K run/walk will once again be part of Homecoming weekend. The 5k begins at 9:30 a.m. You can register for the Joetown Classic at getmeregistered.com/joetownclassic5k. Later on Saturday, the school will host its annual pork supper. Tickets to the supper can be purchased from any Hillcrest junior or at the door. Serving goes from 4:30-7 p.m. with costs of $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, and $5 for children ages 4-12. Kids 3 and under eat for free.
