Volunteers are needed to help expand the 4-H mission which says, “4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential through youth-adult partnerships and research-based experiences.” The 4-H Youth Committee is an 18-member adult group that meets monthly to review and plan 4-H and youth events for Washington County. The 4-H Youth Committee is currently looking for new members to start in January of 2020 for a three-year term. Many of those who serve on this committee are former 4-H members but that is not a requirement.

The committee assists with events to help with registrations, set up, meal preparation, time keeping, and supervision of groups. It also evaluates the rule book, supports leaders, creates partnerships with area businesses, and recruits new members. Those interested in the three-year position are encouraged to contact the Washington County Extension Office.
