Run all over teams, rinse, and repeat. That’s been the theme of the Sigourney-Keota football season thus far, and nothing changed on Friday night in a 40-6 rout of Wilton.
JD Stout had his way in the ground game rushing 15 times for 243 yards and four touchdowns. Brady Duwa ran for 37 yards and a score while Cade Molyneux and Sam Sieren each connected for two-point conversions. The Cobra defense forced three turnovers with an interception by Duwa and fumble recoveries from Dawson Baumert and Payton Schauf. Sigourney-Keota’s 2,275 rushing yards this season ranks first in all classes. While the offense put up video game-like numbers, head coach Jared Jensen also credited the big boys on the other side of the ball. “Our d-line did a great job of getting pressure. We had the Wilton quarterback running all over and he couldn’t get comfortable in the pocket.”
The Cobras improve to 5-0 and return to the field Friday against Van Buren.
