Oversized and overweight loads will be allowed for harvest in Iowa. On Monday, Governor Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation allowing the transportation of oversize and overweight loads of grain for 60 days. This proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage and stover not exceeding 90,000 pounds to be overweight without a permit. This proclamation applies to loads transported on all highways in Iowa, excluding the interstate system. The proclamation went into effect at 12:01 a.m. on October 1st, and will expire at 11:59 p.m. November 29th.
