The Sigourney-Keota Cobra football team steps on the field Friday looking to keep their record perfect when they take on Van Buren. The Cobras are 5-0 and currently ranked No. 10 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa Associated Press. Last time out the Cobras beat Wilton 40-6. The Cobras did it with 323 rushing yards, including 243 and four touchdowns from JD Stout. On the season SK is the leading rushing team in the state regardless of class with 2,275 yards on 228 carries and 31 touchdowns. Leading that rushing attack is JD Stout with 1,042 yards and 15 touchdowns on just 78 carries. Cade Molyneux leads the Cobra passing game at eight of 10 for 190 yards and four touchdowns. His favorite target is Brady Duwa with four catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Wyatt Sieren leads the Cobra defense with 20 and a half tackles.

Van Buren comes into the game with a 1-4 record. They got their first win of the year on Monday over Columbus 18-12. Lane Davis was nine of 13 for 128 yards, a touchdown and an interception. For the season, Davis leads the Warriors through the air at 30 of 54 for 336 yards with three interceptions and a pair of touchdowns. Corey Bunnell leads the Van Buren ground game with 43 carries for 162 yards. Tony Davison has pulled in 16 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. Cohyn Jury leads the Warrior defense with 25 and a half tackles. These two teams met a year ago with the Cobras taking a 46-8 win. Action begins Friday at 7p.m.
