Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common type of dementia, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the projected number of Americans with the disease is expected to increase to 14 million people in the next 40 years. In 2014, there were approximately 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. A fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease research is being held in Washington this Saturday. The Central Park Community Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. People are encouraged to bring projects to work on. Two meals, snacks and door prizes will be included for the $45 ticket. All proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association. Those interested who can’t attend all day are welcome to stop by when they can for a pro-rated cost.
