Cooler running weather might finally be here in Southeast Iowa and just in time for Winfield-Mt. Union’s annual cross country meet that is today at Twin Lakes Country Club.

The Wolves will welcome area schools of Columbus, Lone Tree, and WACO to participate along with Central Lee, Danville, Holy Trinity, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, Montezuma, Notre Dame, and Wapello. The Columbus and Winfield-Mt. Union boys have headlined the area schools this year including finishing second and third in last week’s Mount Pleasant meet. The Wolves’ Brody Barton cracked the top five in fourth and Isaac Acosta was not far behind in seventh.

All of the action begins at 4:30 p.m. this evening in Winfield.
