Huge district implications are on the line tonight at Case Field when Washington (4-1) hosts Solon (5-0) for the annual Heroes Game.

The Demon offense continued to put up gaudy numbers offensively last week in a 49-6 thrashing of Keokuk. Luke Turner and his 1,500 yards of total offense has been a constant, but Zac Stout has really emerged on the outside in the last two weeks with 16 receptions for 304 yards and four touchdowns. Something has to give, as Washington averages 44 points a night, but Solon only gives up seven a game. Head Coach James Harris tells KCII Sports the Spartans always have a stout defense. “They are so fundamentally sound. The d-line is always in sync and makes it hard on offenses. The outside linebacker in Jax Flynn is a special player and really flies around.” They like to throw the rock, as Cam Miller already has over 1,000 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. The Demons are looking for their first win in the series since 2015.

The chance to take control of the district gets underway at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Case Field. Listen to the game on FM 106.1 KCII starting at 7 p.m. with the pregame show and the KCII Football Friday Preview Show gets started at 6 p.m. As part of the Heroes Game festivities, the team welcomes all military and public service men and women, active and veteran, to join them on the sidelines for their pregame routine and stand with them for the National Anthem.
