Attendees will have a chance to go back to the Mesozoic Era during the Henry County Conservation Department’s annual Night Hike. The event will be at Oakland Mills Park. This year’s theme is Jurassic County Park. The hike will be held October 17th from 6-7:30 p.m. with the first 200 kids receiving time travel equipment. Assistant Naturalist Danika Cox tells KCII News that this event is a chance to get young people to the park while also educating them, “We want to get people out and exploring the park. Not only that, but the event is educational and really fun. The kids are going to hike through the woods and have to find the dinosaurs. It’s a chance to have fun. It’s a chance to get outside. And it’s also a chance for the kids to learn.”
A raffle for a free cabin stay will also be held. This event is free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
