Iowans wanting to enroll in Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans have until December 7th to sign up. The Iowa Insurance Division’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is available to help Iowans enroll. Services are free and confidential. Iowans may make changes to their plans during the open enrollment period which runs from October 15th to December 7th. SHIIP Director Kris Gloss says, “Last year SHIIP helped Iowans save over $32 million by comparing Medicare Part D plans for Iowans.” During the open enrollment period, people are encouraged to review their plan notices about any changes for the next year.
