As the seasons change, the Washington Yard Waste Center is extending its hours for residents to dispose of leaves and other yard waste. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. It will also be open from 7-10 a.m. on Saturdays from October 19th through November 23rd. The City of Washington’s Yard Waste Center is located at the Waste Water Treatment Plant at 1065 West Buchanan Street. To access it, use the Highway 1 entrance. The center does not accept lumber or building materials, the rule of thumb to remember is ‘If you didn’t grow it, don’t throw it.’
