The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team is on the road for the second straight week tonight when they travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg High School to meet the Rockets. The Hawks are 3-3 on the season entering tonight off of a 28-6 loss at Williamsburg a week ago. In that game Mid-Prairie was led by Brad Tornow under who finished 10 of 25 for 141 yards, a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. On the season, Tornow is Mid-Prairie’s leading passer at 40 of 83 for 651 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. His favorite target is Jack Baker with 11 catches for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kayden Reinier leads the way in the ground game with 113 attempts for 596 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Mid-Prairie defense is keyed by Justice Jones with 41 tackles including two for loss.

Eddyville-Blakesburg comes into the contest also at 3-3 on the year. The Rockets were a winner last week 14-7 over Davis County. For the year, the Rockets are led by Thane Alexander under center at 48 of 70 for 917 yards, 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His favorite target is Isaiah Smith with 21 catches for 301 yards and two touchdowns. The Rocket ground game is led by Alexander with 38 carries for 169 yards and a touchdown. Alan Angle leads the Rocket defense with 30 total tackles including three stops for loss and three sacks. This week, Mid-Prairie head football coach Pete Cavanagh talked about the Rockets.

These two teams met a year ago in Wellman on the Golden Hawks Homecoming with the Rockets taking a 13-6 win. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Eddyville-Blakesburg High School.
