The Kalona Fire Station offered a hands-on learning opportunity to students at Mid-Prairie East Elementary this week. The fire station hosted educational field trips about fire safety to all classes at the building. The students toured the building, met local fire fighters, heard stories, learned safety tips, saw the firefighters’ equipment and emergency machinery, and took home gift bags. National Fire Prevention Week continues through Sunday.
