The WACO Warrior football team bounced back this week with a 56-46 win over English Valleys on the road. Nik Coble got things started for the Warriors with back to back touchdown runs, giving them a 14-0 lead after one quarter. Coble connected with Robert Frazer to answer an EV touchdown to put the Warriors back up 20-8. WACO took a 28-14 lead into the locker room after Coble rushed for his third score of the first half. In the third quarter, each team scored twice with WACO’s touchdowns coming on a 52 yard Coble scoring run and a Coble to Drew Kissell 24 yard scoring pass. The Warriors held off the Bears in the fourth quarter with two more scores, the first a Coble to Jaden Williams 65 yard scoring pass and then an Elijah McGohan 45 yard touchdown run. The Warriors racked up 491 yard of total offense in the win and forced two EV turnovers with Kissell pulling in a pick and Collins recovering a fumble. Coble led the way with 400 all-purpose yards and accounted for seven touchdowns. He was 15 of 32 through the air for 281 yards and three scores. On the ground he had 11 carries for 117 yards and four more scores. With the win, the Warriors are now 3-4 on the season.
